Drive and tension drums

The drive drums are used to transmit rotational motion from a pair of electric motor and gearbox to the conveyor belt, converting the circular rotation of the drum into a straight axial movement of the belt. Movement forces are transferred to the conveyor belt by a clutch method, which are improved by increasing the diameter of the drum and rubberizing its surface with chevron cutting. The higher the area of contact between the ribbon and the drum, the more effort can be transferred to the ribbon.

Our company produces drums with a diameter of 168, 194, 219, 273, 325, 426, 530, 630 mm.

The bearing housings of the French firm SNR are used.

Tension (end) drums are used to increase the level of adhesion between the drive drum and the conveyor belt with the load; as well as the drums do not allow the belt to hang on the conveyor belt due to the axial tension of the belt ribbon.
